The gamma ray / CCL tool works under the acoustic cement meter. This tool also contains a dual CCL magnetic coil with good sensitivity for measuring couplings up to 7 inches in diameter. The gamma ray / CCL tool can be combined with another instrument or operated independently. This cased hole tool uses a high strength cushioned scintillating crystal coupled to a high resolution detector to measure gamma ray counts of rock with good stability over a wide range of LWDs.
The main purpose of neutron logging in wells is to determine the water saturation in the measured intervals. The PNN tool has several sensors that allow you to estimate the saturation of hydrocarbons, and several more sensors are used for other interpretations, such as shale volume and porosity. In reservoir estimation, hydrocarbon saturation (Sh) is usually expressed in terms of water saturation (Sw). Also defines the following parameters:

Acoustic logging uses a cement tester that uses one acoustic transmitter and dual acoustic receivers located at 3 feet and 5 feet. This arrangement gives the maximum accuracy in assessing the solidity of the cement bond. This tool has a robust design for high stability in corrosive oil and gas well environments.
The radial friction measuring instrument is based on the principle of sound wave attenuation. Conventional Cement Bonding Logging (CBL) measures the amplitude of the audio signal traveling along the casing; the signal is reduced where the casing is bonded to the cement. While complete or missing cement bonds can be easily identified, signals showing partial bonds provide insufficient data to determine waterproofing. The radial clutch device overcomes this problem by using 8 receivers located in a circle around the device. Each receiver provides cohesion data on the casing sector, creating a cement “map” in addition to conventional cohesion logs.
MIT is used to detect the slightest change in the condition of the inner surface of a pipeline or casing with a high degree of accuracy. The tool can be passed through tubing to log casing deep in the well.
The collar locator is used to locate collar joints and perforated zones in tubing and casing. A collar locator is a magnetic device that detects changes in the metal mass, for example, induced by the relatively high mass of the casing collars in the casing. A disturbance in a magnetic field is perceived as a potential difference. The collar locator detects changes in metal while running in tubing or casing. The instrument detector consists of a coil placed between two permanent magnets, oppositely charged. The magnetic field of the permanent magnets in the collar locator changes as the device passes through the casing collars. The changes are perceived by the collar locator and sent through the electrical cable as an impulse with the corresponding recording of the results.
Production logging tools measure the physical properties of fluids in the well, such as temperature, pressure and density. This information can be used to diagnose and identify problems, evaluate and monitor production to improve productivity and better control development.
The system allows multiple sensors to be combined and used simultaneously, providing real-time readout of surface data and reduced operating time.
Free Point Indicator (FPI) identifies the deepest point at which a stuck pipe can be retracted and retrieved from the well. FPI also identifies the neutral pipe weight at the desired rollback depth, thereby significantly increasing the likelihood of a successful rollback operation.
The motorized FPI is ideal for deviated wells where a tool with springs or magnets cannot enter the well without adding multiple hoisting rods and a loose connection.
Features of the Free Point indicator include:
- Measures torque and tension
- Determines neutral weight at a free point by plotting torque versus driller weight
- Reduced friction / drag, and therefore easier deployment in deviated wells.
